After a number of days exploring Cascais, we headed out to Cadiz. Alternating betwen sailing and motor sailing as we made good time on our way south. We had the fish finder on and noted huge schools of tuna under the boat for hours. The fish finder gave us not only depth and number of fish but how big each one was too. Amazing technology. No wonder this is one of the great places in the world for catching tuna. Wish we had our fishing gear!

A calm and uneventful passage brought us to Cadiz Bay at about 13:30 the next day. The sun was shining and the wind was wonderful so we decided to put up our big gennaker for the first time. Wow, it was fantastic to see if flying and how powerful it is. I wish we had a photograph of the yacht flying her colors as it looked terrific to us from the boat but we had all sorts of other yachts sailing past to take a closer look too so it must have looked great.

I was nostalgic as we docked the yacht in the same harbor where I found my interest in sailing almost one year ago, Two close friends of mine and I decided to take sailing lessons for several weeks and I realized I had a real passion for it. Funny how things turn out.
