OK, so let's start out by saying we've been going to the Ambassador (and its sister hotel across the the street, L'Opera) for about 10 years now. Both hotels have always been clean, nice, reasonably priced (for Zürich!) and in a great location close to the Bellevue tram station. They are also about a 5 minute walk to the lake and the bridge crossing over the Zürich river.

Ambassador Hotel, Zürich Breakfast is included and is your typical European-style spread with breads, cheese, sliced meats and fruits. As with all Swiss hotels, the price quoted for the room is exactly the price you pay at checkout. Breakfast and taxes are all inclusive in the price so, unlike other countries, you don't end up paying for a lot of 'extras'.

In the winter months surrounding Christmas there is a wonderful market in the square in front of the Opera House (about one block away). During the summer months, sometimes there is a great circus there also. Surrounded by tons of shopping and restaurants, there are no shortage of great places to eat. One of our favorites is Kroenhalle Restaurant where you have to indulge yourself in their special 'Sliced Veal Zürich-Style'.
