We had a few warranty issues with woodworking squeaks and Nautor Swan Global Service asked us to come to their main service center in Badalona, Spain for repair. It was a great offer as they were sending a team from the shipyard in Finland specifically to correct our issues and it also involved a nice passage of about 280 nm round trip from Palma de Mallorca to Badalona (just north of Barcelona) where we could test out the items we had corrected while in Palma.

Specifically, Doyle Sails had worked on our Main and Jib adjusting them to better to fit our yacht and Volvo Marine Engines corrected an issue with some black smoke coming our at higher RPM levels. We also had some repairs to our B&G Sailing Electronics as well as extensive configurations changes to our Victron Energy Systems for better charging of our Lithium batteries. We were anxious to try all this fixes out on this passage.

The weather over and back gave us a chance to sail in beautiful winds as well as some flat, windless hours of just motoring along so all aspects of the repairs were thoroughly tested.

While in Badalona we did some sea trials first and then our squeaks were repaired: While there we had an adjustment made to the closure of the companionway hatch and added some strengthening of the pivot holes in the deck for our Passerelle.

All in all, an excellent passage and a chance to enjoy some sunshine and warmer temperatures than the rest of Europe!
