Feelin' Good Norway to Spain 2024
I write from a Spanish harbor somewhere along the Mediterranean coast, it’s 19 September, and Norway feels like a distant, pleasant dream. We set sail from Bergen on the first day of August, which also happens to be Swiss National Day. Nineteen days, and 1485 nautical miles later, we sailed into the beautiful port at La Coruña, Spain. In between long days of passage-making we managed to squeeze in some great experiences, like visiting Scotland’s Shetland Islands, enjoying time with Puffins(yeah!), celebrating Captain Andrea’s birthday, welcoming friends on board, and visiting the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in the U.K. A very special thank you goes to Neil and the Nautor Swan Global Service center in Hamble who took excellent care of us.
Our Bay of Biscay crossing was uneventful thanks to careful weather planning, a fantastic crew, and terrific provisioning via the Southampton Marks & Spencer. The Swan 58 is a fantastic sailing yacht and easily handled everything Mother Nature could throw at her.
So, here we are, ready to sail tomorrow and complete the final few passages of our journey to Palma de Mallorca—it’s been an incredible adventure—we are feeling good!

Can't wait to hear about your trip over a bottle of wine. Going through the English channel is a bucket list item for me.
