After almost four months in the islands of French Polynesia we begin our passage to Tonga. Our plans are to make a number of stops along the way to break up the passage to be able to handle this with the crew we have on-board. This means we'll be doing 2-3 days passages at most before stopping and resting for a few days before moving on.

Ah Bora Bora...seriously, enough of that, what's it like? Well, up close the mountain which forms the centerpiece of the island's landscape is beautiful, and diverse, with several distinct profiles depending on which angle one is viewing, but "Matterhorn like"? Umm, in reality not so much, imagine one of those tasty Teuscher Matterhorn chocolates you can purchase by the box full on...

We've found a number of nice anchorages here in Bora Bora and this one is one of our favorites. It's close to a really nice beach restaurant (Bloody Mary's Bar) as well as to our favorite diving and snorkeling area. We've got good holding and nice wind to keep us cool for sleeping at night.

Another amazing place to set anchor in beautiful French Polynesia. From our anchorage, we look west over the island resort of Le Tahaa across an aquamarine flat that stretches for a mile or more with the jagged peaks of our neighbor island, Bora Bora, in the distance. We arrived in a rain storm that lasted most of the first day but waking up the next morning to this view was worth it.

OK, I know I've said this before but... it keeps getting better. Each place we come to seems better than the last place. And so it goes for here. The sister islands of Huahini Hui and Huahini Ita are a sailors delight. Everything you've dreamed of is here.

After some lovely days spent enjoying Moorea, it's time to move on to one of the places that has been on my 'bucket list' for many years... Huahini Hui (and Ita). We prepared the boat last night for an early morning (06:30) departure knowing it would take most of the day to sail the 85 nm.

What a fantastic place to sail, swim, scuba dive and just hang out! We arrived in the Marquesas Islands in early April then moved on to the atolls of Tuamotu in May before arriving in Papeete, Tahiti to rest for a while before we continue onto the rest of French Polynesia. We wanted to give you all a look at the amazing scenery in these remote locations both above and below the water.
